Welcome to Mrs. Monasterski's About Page.
Zdravstvuyte !!!
I want to tell you a little bit about myself and how I became a teacher of English as a Second Language.
It all started in the winter of 1999 when my family and I moved to United States.
Growing up in the new country wasn't easy. I struggled a lot with the English Language acquisition and was enrolled in E.S.L. classes all throughout my middle and high school careers.
After graduating, I went to Kean University where I studies Business Management. I graduated from Kean in 2008 with Bachelors in Business Management. Throughout my college career I was actively involved with athletics and ran Cross County, Indoor and Outdoor Track for all 4 years.
After graduation I realized that I wanted to make a difference in the world, so I enrolled back at Kean for my degree in teaching English as a Second Language.
I couldn't have made a better decision.
Being an ESL teacher has truly been a wonderful experience. I think the best part of it is being able to relate to the struggle students go through when they move to a different country. I know exactly how it feels for students who move to United States and cannot effectively communicate with their peers, teachers and other members of their community.
I am looking forward to an amazing year at Lawrence High School !
